We invite you to participate in a conference on the broad topic of reconstruction in Ukraine. Not only about future, but also about the one that happens now.

The conference aims to create a space for discussion, addressing the following challenges:

Challenge 1: Dimensions of war and directions of the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Challenge 2: Preservation of architectural heritage in the context of rebuilding of Ukraine.

Challenge 3: Principles of sustainable development concerning the reconstruction process in Ukraine.

Challenge 4: Architecture in response to the refugee crisis and other effects of war in Ukraine..

Challenge 5: Urban planning and revitalisation for the war-damaged areas.

Special guest Japanese architect Shigeru Ban will give the opening lecture of the conference on Saturday July the 1st, 2023.

The conference is under the auspices of the International Scientific Committee and the honorary patronage of JM Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland, Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, Director of the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism and Chairman of the Committee on Architecture and Urbanism of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The papers will be reviewed and published in the post-conference publication, and the scored journals from the list of the MEiN.

The conference will be held in English, Polish and Ukrainian.

Participation in the event is free of charge, and registration by form is obligatory. https://forms.office.com/e/yu4TX8GX2d
Applications should be sent by 22 May 2023 (Monday). Invitations to present papers in plenary sessions will be sent out within 20 days of this deadline.

 

To attend the conference (without a paper), you must register via a form by Monday 19 June 2023. The organisers may ask you directly before the conference to confirm your willingness to participate.
