The conference invites a conversation on how architecture generates knowledge. Through the intentional shaping of space – and the meanings and narratives it carries – designers can spark learning, reflection, and responsible civic action. Presentations by leading practitioners and showcases of innovative solutions will provide a forum for examining the ties between design and education.
The Design Educates Awards Gala accompanying the conference is not only a presentation of the results of the international competition, but also a review of best practices in design which – going beyond aesthetics and utility – build awareness, responsibility, and engagement with social, environmental, and cultural issues.
