Urban Wood – Wood Based Building Design for Sustainable Urban Development

Dear Sir or Madam,



for the first time in the field of architecture, Vienna University of Technology organises the postgraduate master program focused on urban wooden buildings, in collaboration with Dresden University of Technology and Politecnico di Torino. This program "Urban Wood – Wood Based Building Design for Sustainable Urban Development" offers participants a series of lectures and design trainings related to the ecological design of urban buildings at three universities mentioned above.



The first edition has started in 2007 and is running with an international atmosphere with ten architects and engineers from seven countries.

On the attached review you will get some impressions about our program and the participants.



Following the success in the first edition, the second edition will start on August 25, 2008. We are convinced that the sustainable development of urban life requires talents who can manage the construction with advanced knowledge of ecological material application.
