Are you a student or young professional in Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture or a related discipline? Do you like to work and live in the architecture city of the Netherlands for two weeks? Are you interested in studying a unique and realistic design problem? Do you like to work on a case study amongst professionals in your field of knowledge? Apply now for the Rotterdam Architecture Summer School 2009!

The Summer School is a two-week programme designed to provide bachelor and master students and young professionals an exercise in dealing with a unique, yet realistic design problem. Students are working in groups of about eight people, all supervised by an experienced and inspiring architect or urban designer. Several experts visit the studio and contribute to the programme by giving a lecture or being a critic. Various excursions are also included.

From Saturday 15 August until Thursday 27 August 2009 participants work on five sites in the centre of Rotterdam. The interventions are based on the themes of the 4 th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam Open City - Designing Coexistence, which takes place in Rotterdam from 24 September 2009 to 10 January 2010. The results of the Summer School will be displayed as part of the exhibition Parallel Cases // IABR@RDM, part of the main programme of the 2009 Biennale.

During the Summer School the Academy will be hosting two special

exhibitions: Archiprix 2009 - displaying the best Dutchgraduation projects in architecture, urban design and landscape architecture. And Archiprix International 2009 - displaying the nominated and winning projects and the participants favourites of the 5th edition of this international competition for the world best graduates in architecture, landscape and urban design.
